Mt Kosciuszko Summit

Mt Kosciuszko at 2228 metres above sea level, is the highest peak in Australia.  We took the chairlift at Thredbo to the top.

From there it’s a 6.5 km walk to the summit.  Most of the track is flat with a bit of gentle uphill.

Start of the walk.
Along the way, Matt and Fay stopped at streams and refresh themselves with the water, which will flow into the Snowy River.

Keep on walking ...

On the way, we stopped at Lake Cootapatamba Lookout.  Lake Cootapatamba is the highest lake as well as being  one of five glacial lakes in Australia.

The highlight of the walk is the SNOW!  Fay has her wish, she touched snow for the first time and made her very first snowman.  Matt enjoyed himself by sliding down the snow.
